CEL’s Founding Director, Dr. Candace Singh
Dr. Candace (Candy) Singh’s career has spanned 33 years in K-12 and higher education. Before retiring from public education in December 2022, Candy was the superintendent of the award-winning Fallbrook Union Elementary School District in Southern California for over 11 years. Recognized at the state and national level as an influential female leader in public education, Candy was most recently honored with the 2022 Exemplary Woman in Education Award from the Association of California School Administrators.
Dr. Singh began her career in public education in 1990, serving as an elementary and middle-level teacher, assistant principal, principal, district curriculum leader, and superintendent of schools. She also worked as a faculty member in the College of Education at California State University San Marcos for over 18 years, teaching the next generation of educational leaders. Since retiring from K-12 education, Dr. Singh continues to work with districts and organizations nationwide to provide inspiring keynotes, leadership development, and executive coaching.
