Students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching program complete 33 units of credential coursework and 12 units of advanced coursework. For the advanced courses, students may choose from a menu of options depending on their professional interests and career goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n Teaching and Learning<\/strong><\/td>\n		\n

  • Emphasizes current issues in education and skills for action research<\/li>\n
  • Culminates in a project or paper focused on improving instructional and leadership abilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Option 2<\/strong>
\nTeacher Leadership<\/strong><\/td>\n		\n
    \n
  • Emphasizes teaching, coaching, and collaboration with colleagues to implement research supported practices that enhance student success<\/li>\n
  • Culminates in a faculty panel review of the student\u2019s ePortfolio compiled throughout the course sequence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Option 3<\/strong>
\nSpecial Education<\/strong><\/td>\n		\n
    \n
  • Emphasizes working with learners with mild to moderate special education needs and the structures utilized to support them<\/li>\n
  • Culminates in a faculty panel review of the student\u2019s ePortfolio compiled throughout the course sequence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Option 4<\/strong>

  • Emphasizes understanding the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of children<\/li>\n
