Teaching Program Prerequisites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All students must complete fieldwork hours in the state of California.\u00a0Student teaching candidates must complete an application and be accepted by the faculty into the student teaching sequence with the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Introductory Supervised Teaching Requirements:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate of Clearance or equivalent fingerprint clearance<\/li>\n<li>Demonstration of personal dispositions necessary for teaching (as outlined by the LaFetra College of Education)<\/li>\n<li>CPR for adults, infants and children<\/li>\n<li>Current TB clearance<\/li>\n<li>Verification of Basic Skills Competence as defined by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of all pre-student teaching coursework as defined by a GPA of 3.0 or better<\/li>\n<li>Speech course or verification<\/li>\n<li>US Constitution course or passing test score<\/li>\n<li>Health Education\/Nutrition\/Drug Prevention\/Tobacco\/Sexually Transmitted Diseases Course<\/li>\n<li>Verification of Subject Matter Competence as defined by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advanced Supervised Teaching Requirements:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful completion of all requirements for Introductory Supervised
